By day, the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue dazzles all the senses. By night, the senses are electrified. Anything could happen between Sixth and Eighth Avenues, from West 40th to West 53rd.

Marion accepts his hand, standing up with him. Even putting her hand in his is so thrilling.

Once more he tucks her hand under his arm, keeping her close.

"You should smile, my lovely Marion. If you have received a blessing, then be grateful, not shocked."

As she finishes standing, the sting of the cuts at her knees causes a momentary frown. "Oh, I am grateful. I am." Not even the ruin of her stockings and the money they cost is able to pull her too far down.

"I'm sorry, Kurt. I ... must look a fright."

He glances down to her and smiles. To her it might seem a kind expression. To those who know him, it might look like someone just gave him the keys to the Crown Jewels.

"I think you look beautiful."

"R-really?"

Marion looks up at him. How are her eyes so wide when she does that?

"M-my stockings are all torn and I'm bleeding." A pause, "I should find a place to clean up."

"You wanted to go home, correct? Then let us see you there."

He keeps her walking, though he doesn't know if he's going in the right direction.

"It... I'm going to be picked up." Marion looks up at him, "I should go meet the car... It is a long walk home."

"I see."

The smile diminishes some at the idea of someone picking her up. That just won't do. He can't be seen. Fortunately, that isn't much of a problem for him.

"Where were you going to be picked up? I can at least wait with you to ensure you will not be knocked down again."

"At the library." Marion smiles up at him again, walking along with him. "Thank you. Thank you so much, Kurt." Her hand on his arm, squeezes lightly.

He stops walking and turns her to face him, his hands on her arms. Those odd yellow eyes look down on her with an intensity, but there is a smile hovering at the corners of his mouth.

"Please understand...it has been my pleasure." The smile lifts some, the fades. "My only regret is that it won't happen again."

Marion blinks a few times, "I... don't get out often but.. we could meet..." Swallowing, she looks hesitantly up at him, "I don't get much time but we could meet."

He smiles as she repeats herself, one of his overlarge fingers brushes under her chin.

"I would like that."

He looks at her for a long while, then turns to continue walking her towards the library.

Marion's breath catches for a moment.

"Maybe for lunch sometime?"

"Certainly."

They turn a corner, though he's mainly taking his cues on where to go from her.

"This is my first time in your fair city. Perhaps you could show me around."

And point out some likely Lehnsherr locations for future reference.

Marion points out the library two blocks down from where they've turned the corner. "Of course. I don't know it all that well myself, Kurt. I don't do a lot of walking around on my own but I'll gladly show you what I know."

"Then we may discover it together."

He gives her arm a promising squeeze as they approach the library steps. At least three promising locations to disappear into have already been spotted by him. He figures he'll find 5 more before her ride shows up.

Luisa isn't here yet, which is something of a miracle. She should be. She really should be here. Marion looks for the car and doesn't see it right away. "Luisa will be here soon. I'm surprised she's not here now." There is a smile for Kurt. "Thank you again."

He lifts her hand to his lips once more.

"Mein Vergnügen, schönes."

The kiss to her hand hesitates for just a moment as he spots a car approaching the curb. No sense taking chances.

"It looks as if you chariot has arrived."

When she turns to look in that direction, she will find herself on the receiving end of a velvety kiss to her cheek, then his voice filters back from a distance up the stairs.

"I will find you."

"I-I don't..." Marion will have to pick up some German quickly, she has a feeling. The kiss to her cheek gets her eyes to open wide again.

"How will..? Kurt...? Thank you...."

Blinking for a few moments, she looks for him and then turns toward the car, feeling like she's floating. It will be an interesting ride home.
