Make time for Daddy

He had told her to buy a new outfit. This had actually translated into going to the spa, getting a manicure, having her hair trimmed and done, new shoes...the whole works. And none of it was her idea.

She knows he'll want to see the finished product, but she's been putting it off as long as she can, holing up in her room quietly, and avoiding the servants. It won't last forever, and she knows it. This is why the new dress, hose and shoes are all readily available. All it will take is the summons.

She is not looking forward to it.

She gives her head a little shake in the negative. She can't think of anything she'd want other than this not to happen.

"Think on it." He pulls a carved box out of his pocket. He has always been good with his hands even before he knew he could control magnetism. Anything he did with metal in his hands was a work of art.

Nestled inside are rings that he has shaped with his powers for her to be married in. Wreaths of intricate vines and leaves made of several different metals to give it color and shading lay there. In the ring meant to be hers is an emerald.

"It matches your eyes."

She blinks swiftly widening eyes as her fingers hover just over the rings. They don't touch them, however, before she pulls her hand back to her chest, looking up at him.

"Daddy...they're beautiful!"

She can't help it, she's off the bench and hugging him closely again, fighting back another set of tears.

If any of Xavier's people harm his youngest daughter there will be slaughter in return that will make what happened to Isaac look like a mercy killing. This much he will promise to himself.

"It is not half as beautiful as the woman who will wear it."

She smiles again, blushing and ducking her head.

"Thank you, Daddy. I will be proud to wear them."

If only because you made them for me.
